We have really enjoyed our Phonics learning journey so far. The children have been able to transfer what they have learnt to their free play, looking for tricky words, digraphs and trigraphs in sentences that we have read during lessons FoxfieldPrimary Reading@Foxfield

The children are immersed in our new topic for this term. They are really enjoying learning about the characters of our core text. Can you guess what our topic is? FoxfieldPrimary 🐻👧🏼🌳🏙

In maths the children have been halving. Today we tried to halve odd numbers. Alia said “you can’t halve odd numbers because you cannot share the whole equally. It’s not fair” FoxfieldPrimary

For our art learning journey this term, we are looking at cityscapes and identifying the features of a city. Gabriel said “I can see tall building and a pointy roof” FoxfieldPrimary

Some of our amazing cityscape drawings inspired by our rooftop views and through observation of photographs of different cities FoxfieldPrimary

In maths we have been sorting odd and even. To do this we had to recall prior learning and Hunter said “we know it’s even if we can count in two’s” FoxfieldPrimary

Emma and Katherine were so proud to share their board full of tricky words this morning. Well done! FoxfieldPrimary

It is wonderful to see the children transferring what they have learnt to their free play. This afternoon they have been writing sentences and have demonstrated some fantastic coaching skills to help their friends FoxfieldPrimary Alia said “Don’t forget your finger spaces” 📝

What ingredients do you need for your potion? We are working together to create some magical mixtures. Delilah said “I am putting rice in my ingredients” FoxfieldPrimary

It’s all in the process ⏳. Check out the collaboration and teamwork in this activity! Great to see such great independent problem solving skills in our outdoor environment! FoxfieldPrimary

Shapes are all around us! This week we have been exploring 2D shapes and their properties. We worked together make our own pictures using the shapes... Ollie said “we made a robot and we used a circle for it’s head” FoxfieldPrimary

What a wonderful way to end this half of the term! We enjoyed a very engaging trip to Mudchute Farm and managed to get up close and personal with all of the animals FoxfieldPrimary 🐷🐮🦆🐔🐏🐄

The children are really enjoying this sensory mark making activity this morning. It is creating some wonder and awe too... Why is it hot? How does it do that! It can disappear! FoxfieldPrimary

Kicking of Arts Fortnight with some experimental drawings, exploring the texture of a wolves fur. We used charcoal to draw lines and create different effects. What do you think? FoxfieldPrimary @artsfortnight 🐺

After exploring the texture of the wolf’s fur, we begun looking at the wolf’s eye with specific focus on the shape and colour FoxfieldPrimary #artsfortnight

Our wolf eyes are are coming on wonderfully... just look at that precision and concentration FoxfieldPrimary #weareartists
