I can’t lie - I get it and speaking around to people I know, a lot of it is geographical. Ferrari are the only team without a base in the UK - and that’s where most F1 engineers live. Even VCARB have a base in the UK meaning a lot of their staff don’t need to move to Italy.

These people have no idea how hiring in any industry actually works. I meant within the UK itself - F1 teams actively recruit from UK universities because they are close by and the sample size is astronomically large. When you’re in the UK, it’s essentially tailor made for F1
