"Social studies is social studies regardless of your personal beliefs" doesn't work in reality. Unless the class never addresses ?'s like those below there is no such thing as 'neutral' education. What is good/bad govt? What are good/bad laws? What constitutes a human right?

I think it's going to be a challenge to teach 25-32 kids per chemistry section. I haven't done this in 4 years and I feel like I won't be able to give each student the attention they need 😣

I stole this activity from Katy Dornbos 🤸🏽‍♀️ who stole it from AlLiS⌬N McMah⌬n Students had to fill their container with 10mL. We then compared results in the test tubes. We're talking significant digits tomorrow! #iteachchem

I've found that framing significant digits as a *communication* tool helps students better make sense of why they matter. It also helps when we've talked about the difference between a "number" and a "quantity". #iteachchem

For some reason students like to tell themselves that "leading/trailing zeros" are defined by their placement relative to the decimal point, even though I never say that. 🧐 The column on the right is my attempt to get ahead of that misconception. #iteachchem

Idk if I'd say no school at all, but there's definitely an argument to be made for some students not needing to go all the way through the high school system we currently have 🫣

One advantage I'm seeing about not grading homework is how quickly students can receive feedback. Instead of waiting a week for me to grade a worksheet, students can check their work with the premade key immediately. #iteachchem
