Thrilled to see our work published in ATS Blue Journal. This study completed a physiological characterization of adults with #PRISm #spirometry patterns, which included: flow/volume loops, static lung volumes, DLCO, chest CT scans, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing #CPET.

Nick Tiller, Ph.D. and I tackled sex-differences in ultramarathon running by analyzing races with equal male and female participation. What happens to female performance when you eliminate participation bias? 🏃‍♀️💨

Dyspnea Society meeting is wrapped up for another year. There were many great presentations, but special thanks to the earlier career researchers. Congratulations to Rachelle Aucoin, Félix Girard & Max Olsson who won best 3-min thesis style presentation #Dyspnea2024

📢 In this study, led by Viktor Elmberg & Magnus Ekstrom, we showed that among 13,506 ppl referred for incremental exercise testing 🚴, abnormally high exertional #breathlessness independently predicted all-cause, respiratory 🫁 and cardiac 🫀 #mortality journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…

📢 In this study, led by Viktor Elmberg & Magnus Ekstrom, we showed that multidimensional ratings of breathlessness at the peak of an incremental🚴test does not differentiate between people with normal and abnormally high exertional breathlessness 🫁pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39870285/
