Short trip around the corner this morning to visit with Kendall as he was up and running at Ruhenkamp Farms already. His typical day consist of walking the swine barns to check feeders, water lines, and animal health. He also assist with field work and day to day maintenance.

Stopped by to see Katelyn this afternoon and see the garden she has been caring for this summer. She is also very involved with the family’s swine operation and assists with seasonal field work. Of all her tasks she most enjoys processing piglets and operating equipment.

After a brief rain and a quick cool down I was able to visit with Bode as he walked his Dairy Feeder Calf in preparation for the fair. This is a near daily activity along with weighing to keep track of growth. This guy is busy! He also works on the farm and loads out hogs.

I was able to catch Macy in the show arena this week at the Shelby County Fair. Great work with this jersey heifer.

Jared was busy this week in the show ring with his market lambs. Well done!

Made the trip to Columbus to watch Edward show in the market barrow show at the State Fair. A lot of hours have gone into this project! Great work!

Stop out at Lake Loramie State Park for the Fall Harvest Festival this weekend. We will be serving pork loin sandwiches this evening until we run out. Don’t wait!

Final day for the 2025 Lakefest! Our sweet corn is approved by “The King”, stop out and try some. Our high school band performs today and the Community Service Club has chicken dinners for sale. Get here early!

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve posted, sorry. Check out the Animal and Plant Science project! They have been working on their vertical vegetable production and we are just good getting started with harvesting cucumbers and sugar snap peas. Everything is looking good?

AFNR classes had the opportunity last month to experience using a laser level during our land evaluation lesson. They measured slope and discussed the various impacts it can have on our agricultural land and about management practices they can implement to overcome various slopes

These four FFA Members competed in the District 5 Job Interview Contest this afternoon at Versailles HS. Now we wait for the results.

Congrats to these FFA members for being inducted to the National Honor Society this past Friday. Outstanding achievement!

These FFA Members traveled to Columbus this morning to compete in the Animal Management State Finals. Looking forward to the results in the coming days.

STATE RUNNER-UP!!!! Congratulations to our Animal Management Team. This is our second year in a row placing second in the state. Well done!!!!

STATE CHAMPION! Madison earned this title yesterday out of 1265 individuals in the Ohio FFA Animal Management Contest. Outstanding accomplishment!

Ten FFA members competed in the Ag Technology and Mechanical Systems contest yesterday and are off to a great start. Our team is currently in 5th with the state finals awaiting on December 11th at OSU-ATI in Wooster. Brett, Edward, Grady, and Payton will represent the chapter.
