React Native 0.79 is now available! This release includes several performance improvements. Metro is now >3x faster to cold start! Android apps will also be faster thanks to changes to JS bundle compression. reactnative.dev/blog/2025/04/0…

Remind for upcoming ReScript v12, introducing unified operators, no longer requiring awkward type-specific operators like +. and ++ rescript-lang.org/blog/introduci…

Pretty nice blog post about ReScript v12's newest polymorphic (unified) operators feature. Also does an interesting deep dive into implementation specifics. Seems to do the right trade-offs in syntax convenience and runtime perf. rescript-lang.org/blog/introduci…

One of the most common "gotchas"/annoyances for newcomers to ReScript is getting solved in ReScript v12 - unified operators! The regular math operators will work for int/float/bigint, no special syntax needed. rescript-lang.org/blog/introduci…

Upcoming ReScript (ReScript) v12 move platform binaries into optional dependencies (e.g. rescript/linux-x64) To shrink the download & install size significantly! Download & Install size change: - Before: 67 MB | 197 MB - After: 15 MB | 48 MB (on a Linux x64 machine)

ReScript has officially adopted pkg.pr.new, which means we now have npm packages for every commit 🚀 No more npm link or waiting for an alpha release! Thank you mohammad 👾, Amir Hossein, and StackBlitz team for supporting the ecosystem.

Let's go #ReScriptRetreat2025! Thanks to CCA.io for supporting us to get everyone together to work on the ReScript language and tooling. Goal for this weekend: Get ReScript v12 ready for production and talk about the roadmap for 2025🚀

Sury rc.3 is out. Fixed all regressions from the 9th version and released sury-ppx. Also finished writing a massive changelog for the release. Check it out before an upgrade. ps. Support for rescript-envsafe and rescript-rest is still in progress. github.com/DZakh/sury/rel…

whenever you find yourself writing an if - else-if -else chain, pause and ask yourself: could this be a switch on sum types instead?

Okay, so this year I get invited to the ReScript retreat in Vienna. Show up at a co-work space packed with hackers, and we’re just hammering—getting shit DONE. The energy was electric. Legit one of the best OSS experiences I’ve had. #ReScriptRetreat2025

This is an awesome trick by Dillon Mulroy λ! Since I love ReScript, here's the same example but in a functional style since ReScript doesn't use classes. Check this thread out if you're curious about ReScript (or the functional style) and I'll walk you through the code 🧵

Quick (hacky) PoC of supporting ReScript in Svelte components, using <script lang="res">: github.com/zth/rescript-s… Conclusion: Some rough edges, but nothing we can't make work, and using ReScript + Svelte together could be really cool!

I'm pleased to announce OxCaml! OxCaml is Jane Street's branch of OCaml. We've given it a new name and a snazzy logo, and done a bunch of work to make it easy for people to try.
