very interesting stuff (imagine this applied to covid-19 numbers like spread, deaths, but also documented adverse side effects of vaccines)

New article with Moreno Mancosu. We study the contextual factors predicting public perceptions of spread of false news & normative concerns about it. We expected political polarization to play a big role, turns out media quality & independence matter more journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117…

is there a Japanese word for "the feeling that you have when you listen to a record for the first time and although it fits perfectly with your music taste you already know that you won't be listening to it again"

Super happy that my paper with Levente Littvay won the Giovanni Sartori Prize for the best article published in 2022 on the RISP Ita PolSc Rev. I am pretty fond of this paper, and I am happy that others liked it too. You can read it (in open access) here: bit.ly/3PFwCPJ

new article w/ Maurizio Avola & Giorgio Piccitto that is pretty different from my usual topics. In a comparative cross-regional study we look at "migrant penalty" on labor markets, finding interesting patterns. Also it was fun to run MLMs on LFS microdata. frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

New report by Eurofound, to which I had the pleasure to collaborate, coordinated by Dragos Adascalitei. We studied the impact of job retention schemes on labor and incomes during Covid in the EU. Turns out they did work to a large extent. See full report👇 eurofound.europa.eu/en/publication…

In a new study published with Moreno Mancosu, AntoS and Giuliano Bobba we find what everybody thought but now we even have empirical backing for it: in Italy, right-wing citizens feel more victimized than those on the left or in the center. Why? We'll see in the next episode.

New article with Steven M. Van Hauwaert in open access on European Political Science Review We look at factors explaining shifts in aggregate public opinion on immigration in 13 European countries over almost 40 years. Turns out the economy counts a lot, as does politics. Check it👇 cup.org/4i0kwMQ
