I’m pleased to share our recent manuscript based on my MSc project John Innes Centre in wheat spike development. We found a new allele of an APETALA2-like gene with major effects on spike morphology. doi.org/10.1007/s00122… Line N67 ‘normal’ spike vs ANK-15 compact spike: (1/8)

#PAG31 is a wrap for the Faris Lab. Presented multiple talks and posters on genetics of tan spot, septoria nodorum, BLS, and yield. We are excited and energized to get back to work and move the science forward! Pooja Kumari Tiana Roth Krishna Acharya, PhD

To the wheat and plant sciences community: We want to share across the coming weeks our day-to-day lab protocols, via protocols.io (open access, no peer review). First release is: "How to grow wheat" dx.doi.org/10.17504/proto… Feedback is welcomed and greatly appreciated! 💬

Proud of this one from my postdoc Sudeshi Seneviratne. Extensive characterization of the Snn1 susceptibility gene in #wheat and development of highly effective markers for breeding. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/tp…

GrainGenes update: Wheat Gene Catalogue 2024 is released (covering curations from 2017-2024) wheat.pw.usda.gov/GG3/content/oc… Wheat Initiative American Malting Barley Association

Congrats to Krishna Acharya, PhD on leading this pioneering research to identify and map robust resistance QTLs for bacterial leaf streak in wheat. Impactful research needed for wheat improvement, especially in the Upper Great Plains.

Honored to present my work on wheat susceptibility to tan spot at the #IWGSC workshop wheatgenome during #PAG32. A big thank you to IWGSC organizers for the opportunity and to everyone who attended. Looking forward to more great discussions!
