Latest update on the FAANG Data Coordination Centre that is funded by the EuroFAANG projects AQUA-FAANG BovReg and GENE-SWitCH to deliver global support to improve availability of high-quality functional annotation of farmed and companion animal genomes

EuroFAANG is a coordinated effort to unravel the connection between the genetic make-up of an animal and the observable physical and physiological traits. EuroFAANG will address key challenges in farmed animal production in collaboration with the global FAANG initiative.

Given much consideration of current situation of the PAG meeting. FAANG Workshop organizers have decided to reschedule the FAANG Workshop to the second half of February. Specific details of the workshop will be shared with the community in the next week.

Anne Pierre Sanchez from INRAE made the following presentation today at WCGALP2022 "Sequence-based GWAS meta-analyses for beef production trait"🥩

5 partners of #BovReg performed sequence-based GWAS for 28 beef production traits on 50K animals from 15 different #cattle . Results were combined in meta-analyses to identify a higher number of #genomic regions in which variants were more frequently located in genes.🧬🐮

Gabriel Moreira ULiège Research & Innovation made the presentation "Multi-dimensional functional annotation of #bovine genome🧬🐮 for the BovReg project" today at the WCGALP2022

Within #BovReg project, a portable #NextFlow DSL2 pipeline was developed by #FBN for a reproducible large-scale eQTL study with data contribution from 6partners. The study identified several 1000s significant cis-eQTL across the bovine genome in 8different tissues WCGALP2022
