Latest update on the FAANG Data Coordination Centre that is funded by the EuroFAANG projects AQUA-FAANG BovReg and GENE-SWitCH to deliver global support to improve availability of high-quality functional annotation of farmed and companion animal genomes

Save the date. EuroFAANG virtual training course on best practice for submitting experiment and analysis data to FAANG. 7th April 13-17 GMT, 14-18 CET, 07-11 CST. Provided by EMBL-EBI and Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). Funded by GENE-SWitCH and supported by BovReg Open to all FAANG members

Looking forward to presenting perspectives from the FAANG data portal at the Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative workshop on best practices for use and reuse of agricultural genomics data. This work at EMBL-EBI is funded by the EuroFAANG projects: AQUA-FAANG BovReg and GENE-SWitCH.

. Birgit Gredler from Wageningen U&R made the following presentation at #WCGALP2022: "Accuracy of #genomic prediction of dry matter intake in Dutch #Holsteins using sequence variants from meta-analyses"🐮🧬 during session: Challenges – Improving genomic prediction (1)

Yesterday, within the GENE-SWitCH & GEroNIMO (Epi)Genome enabled monogastric breeding Stakeholder Workshop at #WCGALP, Franck Meijboom Faculty of Science, Utrecht University gave a talk explaining that #Genomics & other NGT’s require an #ethical discussion, as part of responsible #research & #innovation 🧬

The Democs game contributes to public #engagement needed in the societal & #ethical debate that invites the general #public to particpate. Franck Meijboom presented Broadening the debate on breeding innovations. On public engagement and the role of Democs Game at #WCGALP

Gabriel Moreira ULiège Research & Innovation made the presentation "Multi-dimensional functional annotation of #bovine genome🧬🐮 for the BovReg project" today at the WCGALP2022

Within #BovReg project, a portable #NextFlow DSL2 pipeline was developed by #FBN for a reproducible large-scale eQTL study with data contribution from 6partners. The study identified several 1000s significant cis-eQTL across the bovine genome in 8different tissues WCGALP2022
