A bird of prey swooped into the garden and took a small bird this morning. Brida is still going mental about it 45 minutes later.

When I was younger, the golden rule when a camera came out was to run and hide. Then when the age of ‘selfies’ crept in the idea was to make it look like it wasn’t a selfie - because that was just vain with a capital ‘V’. Now people stand before a mirror looking at their phone.

There's a gate in the woods, but no fence either side of it. I walk by, but Eider always pauses at the gate. I must try and get a video of it - but the odds are that when I have my phone with me she won't do it!
