En lo que llevamos de año han ardido un millón de hectáreas en la Unión Europea (estimación preliminar dado que EFFIS no descuenta islas sin quemar). De este millón de hectáreas, casi el 70% se ha concentrado en la Península Ibérica: el 40% en España y el 28% en Portugal.
