This suitcase was full of training shirts, shorts, tights, hats etc… 15min at the end of the Richmond High School track meet and most of that stuff has found a second home! Some of the gear is nearly as old as the kids who took it home.

Just realized that next year at the World U20 Champs in Eugene there will be athletes who weren’t born when I competed at World Juniors in 2008.

I’m getting better at ignoring the negative comments. But when I do engage, I think I’ve found a more fun way to do it.

Excited to officially be heading to my 7th World Athletics Championships. Amazing that every athlete selected has strong B.C. ties!

Tokyo will be the 41st National Team in my career! I really with Athletics kept track of international ‘caps’ as it would be really cool to see where I stack up. I feel like I must be close to having the most caps for Canada, which would be a very cool and meaningful accolade.

Conditions for European Athletics Race Walk Champs in Podebrady on Sunday look near perfect. And it’s possibly the best course in the world. I hate to admit it, but my World Record is in some serious danger if Stano takes a shot at it 🫣 Will I be staying up late to watch? Absolutely

Congratulations Massimo Stano for taking nearly 1min off the 35km world record. 79min last 20km is absolutely insane. Was proud to have this record, if not even for 2 months. Definitely sad to be losing it, but glad to know it’s in good hands!

All smiles here at Nationals for UBC Thunderbirds walkers. 1-2 in a great men’s race with Lowell taking the win with a new PB and Tyler just behind. In the women’s side Olivia made a decisive move to pull away a couple km into the race and went on to lower her championship record.

Who decided that we couldn’t hold our attention for an entire 100m race. Does the algorithm really favor showing us 70m of a race over 100m? It’s baffling.

World Athletics is using GPS timing this year for the marathon and race walks in Tokyo. We are one step closer to my vision of Mario Kart style live leaderboards and course maps!
