Very happy to see our preprint ‘Concerted expansion and contraction of immune receptor gene repertoires in plant genomes’ now out Nature Plants nature.com/articles/s4147… 🟪Summary thread of the updates:

Our paper with work by Simon Snoeck and @anthonygkgarcia is out today in eLife - the journal ! We describe the evolution of herbivore peptide recognition by a plant immune receptor, and resurrect the sequence of the ancestral gene from ~28 million years ago. elifesciences.org/articles/81050

Proud of this one -- our first ever MPMI Journal paper and with amazing undergrad-technician first author, @anthonygkgarcia Previous tweet thread about the paper is below

Fantastic work, great talk by Edwige Moyroud #Edwige_M on Hibiscus petal development at our weekly colloquium NUS Biological Sciences. Mind blowing work on Proximal-distal axis formation and more.

delighted to be able to report the completion of a long-running project to identify ATR2, the downy mildew effector recognised by the first defined paired NLRs, RPP2A and RPP2B. It's a non-canonical RxLR-like effector, with WY domains Mahmut Tör biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Resurrected protease!! Our good ol' PIP1 is saved from the nasty potato blight pathogen... Miaoying Tian >> Enhanced late blight resistance by engineering an EpiC2B-insensitive immune protease. Mariana Schuster et al. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Both Lida and Jiorgos were postdocs with Sophien Kamoun - a network of wonderful colleagues in itself
