Not sure when the Notre Dame Football - BYU FOOTBALL game will happen, but assuming ND doesn't lose a game before playing BYU, the College Football Belt will be at stake: cfbbelt.com

If you're going to accuse people of historical blunders, be sure you have your facts straight. Anne Hathaway was born in 1556. (@jbillingson probably typoed the "1982" based on 1582, which was the year of her marriage to William Shakespeare, not her birth.)

Still amazed how close BYU came to losing to Georgia Tech. On GT's 2nd-to-last play, the ball went through the hands of a receiver who was open in the endzone. If he'd caught the ball, GT would gone up 28-25 with 14 seconds left, and it would have taken a miracle for BYU to win.

Last play of the TCU-USC Alamo Bowl game was the surprise twist ending no one expected. Great effort by receiver Jeremy Payne to stay inbounds and get to the end zone on a play intended to get into field goal range on 3rd and 20 from the 35.

As a general rule, I root against the SEC. But given today’s results, I think it would be hilarious if Ole Miss goes on to win the national championship this year, and Lane Kiffin never wins one at LSU or wherever his career takes him after that.

I don't know why people expected SEC teams to do well in the postseason. What does the Securities and Exchange Commission know about football?

Nine hundred and ninety-nine times out of a thousand, if you start with "I'm not trying to be rude here, but...", you're going to succeed at being rude. And you'll have done it without even trying! Amazing! Either you were born with the talent to be rude, or you've practiced it

Based on that chart, I made this bar graph. Logos with multiple letters count for each letter, but a letter can only count once per year. So for 1970's 3-way tie, it counts * (Texas logo with no letters), N (Nebraska), and OHISTAE (Ohio State logo with duplicate letters removed).

Here's my theory on what happened in Venezuela. The FBI wanted Maduro to testify about his dealings with drug cartels. So someone wrote a memo saying, "We need to depose Maduro," using definition 3c, and someone misread it as definition 1. Hijinks ensued.

This was the 1st football game I remember watching. I was 16, having mostly lived outside the US. The next season I decide to be a BYU fan so I watched or listened to every game & even went to the Holiday Bowl. Alas, that season set my expectations for BYU football for life.

I wish Grok could automatically fact-check my posts before I post them and let me know I might be wrong about something before I make a public fool of myself. (Personally, I don't really need it, but I see a lot of posts by people who desperately need it.)
