Part of our core-team is doing fieldwork this week. We aim to obtain new geological samples from the Chalosse cherts, outcropping in SW France.

This morning we presented the first results of our European Research Council (ERC) project at the II Research Seminar of the IAUB research institute Universitat de Barcelona

🔜Next Wednesday, February 5th, our postdoc researcher QuartziteArch will participate in the IAUB Junior Research Seminars with a talk on the acquisition and managememt of raw mats in Western Europe. More info ⬇️

Today our postdoc researcher QuartziteArch presented his previous works on quartzites at the IAUB Junior Seminars. What a huge and nice work!

✴️This week we started the geochem analysis of the 500 samples that constitute the geological basis of Chalosse-type chert recovered during the surveys conducted last autumn. Previously, we 📷&🔬each sample. The dataset is being uploaded to the project's database (🔜presented).

📢 In parallel, our postdoc QuartziteArch, along with S. Castillo (CENIEH ), are carrying out fieldwork tasks 🥾⛏️⛰️to locate 📍new lacustrine type chert outcrops and collect samples for subsequent analysis📷🔬. We continue working with such a great team!

Our team member QuartziteArch continues working in the field. Today we identified new chert sources in the Mid Ebro basin! Thanks to S. Castillo CENIEH and R. Domingo Universidad Zaragoza for their collaboration!
