For any health geog PhD students and ECRs - this is a fantastic conference, super friendly and great topics. It also turned out to be a pretty life changing one for me as I met my future postdoc mentor from Aarhus uni here!

Something a little different from our usual topics - some of our excellent researchers did some digging into just how much time is spent on reformatting papers for submission guidelines (spoiler: its a lot!) Read the whole paper here: bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… BMC Medicine

Ever wondered how long it takes to reformat papers for journal submissions? We did, and decided to write about it! We calculated time and money lost, interviewed journal editors and researchers, and developed some new guideline propositions. Read here: bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

My brilliant colleague has written a TL;DR friendly blog of our recent paper on manuscript formatting costs TL;DR: Manuscript formatting is costly & time consuming. Simplified guidelines are the way forward linkedin.com/pulse/manuscri… p.s we have petition going. Link in my bio 👆

Our work on journal submissions was featured in Nature 🥳 We hope this is one step closer to biomedical journals adopting our proposed guidelines, so we can shift our focus and energy to science rather than cumbersome formatting guidelines 🙏 nature.com/articles/d4158…?

In over 200,000 Danish women, we found that experiencing adversity during childhood to any extent is linked to a higher risk of GDM. However, women exposed to high levels of adversity had their first child at a younger age, mitigating some of this risk onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/dm…
