After our walk the Deputy DC kindly presented badges to our young people. This included investing our newest Beavers, a Chief Scouts Bronze Award to Beaver Leo and a Chief Scouts Gold Award to now Explorer Scout Julia. Well done to all!! It’s not just our young people that get badges, our adults get them as well! On Saturday the Deputy DC also awarded 5, 10 & 15 year service badges as well as a Cheif Scout’s Commendation for Good Service to volunteer Martin. Well done all!! We are delighted to announce that Bill Ramsay has been appointed as our new District Lead Volunteer. Bill was previously Deputy DC. In his new role, Bill will work with and lead the District's Leadership Team and provide strategic leadership to Scouting in the District.

It is Friday night, so there must be 3 sections having a sleepover camp! Goldenacre Beavers, Goldenacre Scouts and Calton Explorers all having a great time!

This week: 8 marshmallows toasted. 7 wood badges completed. 6 new explorers invested. 5 bronze chief scout awards presented. 4 nights away permits approved. 3 sleepover camps visited in one evening. 2 ten year long service awards celebrated. 1 75 nights away badge presented!

Congratulations to John Kennedy on the award of an OBE. It is well deserved recognition for the significant impact he has had on the development and delivery of Scouting for the benefit of young people. John has strong connection to ENE being DC in Leith District (2000-2005).

Our scout team had a great evening last night at the District Football Competition. Unfortunately we didn’t win but it was great to play in it. First time the competition has run since 2017. I’m sure we’ll win it next year! Thanks to Edinburgh NE Scouts for organising! South East Scotland Scouts
