Advent Stars, an onchain Advent Calendar. Every day, 1st to 24th Dec, a new star illuminates the sky, occasionally bringing colorful nebulae. On Xmas Eve, the cosmic artwork will be complete. Restart it next year, and let the magic happen again. stars.miragenesi.art

10 years ago JSTOR drove a bright young man to suicide for the crime of enabling more open access to research that could help advance the world, the kind of access they're now allowing. His name was Aaron Swartz and his death will hang around their neck forever like an albatross

As a solo dev I often leaned on serverless infrastructures. In many cases, a full database was overkill. This is why I've built echovalue.dev a simple API KeyValue DB, #nosubscription needed. #api #saas #DeveloperTools

It is with great remorse that we mark the passing of programming language pioneer and A.M. Turing Laureate Niklaus Wirth, who passed away on Jan 1, 2024. Wirth developed a sequence of innovative computer languages, EULER, ALGOL-W, MODULA and PASCAL, which provided a foundation

“OpenAI signed a $300 Billion GPU data center deal with Oracle.” > Larry Ellison gained $101B in one day > now the richest man alive. > but Sam doesn't have $300B > Larry doesn't have $300B worth of GPUs. We’re living in a simulation.

Hot take: the best AI assistant setup is boring. Chat + LLM + CLI + cron. No agent frameworks, no orchestration hell. Just stdin, stdout, and permission to do real work. Props to Peter Steinberger 🦞 for clawd.bot

What I’m hearing: large open source projects are being absolutely hammered by AI-generated security reports. To the point of not being able to handle them. Feeling is lots of ppl want an easy way to put a CVE on their CV and collect $$ for bug bounty. Super bad for maintainers
