(SVRBMX) NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Jefferson County until 7:00 PM

There is a level 1 to 2 out of 5!risk for severe storms for all of central Alabama for this afternoon and evening from 3pm to 11pm. Threats include damaging wind up to 60 mph and large hail up to half dollar size.

Jefferson County is currently in a Level 2 (Slight) risk. The main window is 9 PM Sunday to 7 AM Monday, with threats including tornadoes, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and quarter-size hail. Check back for updates as we get closer. Colder temperatures are expected next week.

After Sunday night's stormy weather, cold conditions are forecast across Central Alabama for the early part of the week! Widespread freezing temperatures in the 20s are expected Tuesday morning and in the 20s to near 30 Wednesday morning.
