What a superb Science Week. The children took part in exciting experiments and showcased their projects in the Science Fair.

World Book Day was so much fun. The theme was ‘texts in translation’ & the children loved every minute.

Years 4, 5 and 6 watched the dress rehearsal of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ this afternoon ahead of the final performance in Stratford East theatre this week. The children did so brilliantly and will no doubt do the same for the final performance! 🎭🌟

The children who are reading Stick Man this week went to the park to collect sticks to make their very own stick family.

🏆Elmhurst debaters are London champions 2025!🏆 Huge congratulations to our amazing debating team who won the Debate Mate Cup 2025 this week. The children have benefited from some brilliant coaching by Mrs Robinson.

The trip to the circus was so much fun. We saw acrobatics, high wire, juggling and flame dodging!

Reception had so much fun on their trip to Mudchute Farm. They learnt so much about animals— how to care for them, what they enjoy, their young. It was one of the children’s highlights of the year so far, as you can see from the big smiles on their faces!

Last week, Year 1 learnt about the Hindu celebration of Raksha Bandhan. Hindu sisters make bracelets for their brothers as they promise to always take care of each other. In class we made our own Rahki bracelets and thought about the special people we would give them to.

The Debate Mate breakfast debate at The Ivy today was a brilliant opportunity for the Year 5 debaters to hone their debating skills. They are always keen to develop and see what more they can learn. This is the Elmhurst 5C value ‘challenge’ in action!

Today Year 3 explored how their shadows changed throughout the day and what that means about the relationship between the sun and the earth. ☀️🌏

We had a special visit from poet and author Matt Goodfellow yesterday. Matt describes poetry as ‘rebel writing’. He inspired the children to write what they want to write using whatever words feel ‘right’ to them. Thank you for an amazing day, Matt!
