Watching Gaza daily is to experience deep pain and sadness. While knowing it’s nothing compared to their actual pain and suffering. While feeling immense guilt for not doing more to alleviate their pain. And intense anger at those who are causing them that pain.

My wife is from Aleppo but only today with the news from Hama did the emotional dam she's built over the past 10 years break down. This is a moment of unbelievable symbolic significance, a symbol of the fall of this regime's brutal impunity for decades, an edifice crumbling.

No one can imagine how I feel. I write these words while shaking. My father dared to demand freedom for Syria & has been detained for 12 years with no word about his fate. Seeing detainees released from Hama Prison breaks my heart & sparks dangerous hope. I just want my father!

I’ve reported enough, now it’s done. Syria is ours: Free, Beautiful, and WITHOUT ASSAD, as it should be. Time to finally feel it 🥹. Over 13 years of a life built and centered around this moment. Thank you all.
