This is huge: Tyne and Wear Metro network in effect severed by #Gatesheadflyover collapse fear As Metro line runs underneath it. There is no quick fix for this and so Newcastle Central station is now inaccessible direct by metro as trains North of Tyne are terminating at Monument 1/3

And South of Tyne are terminating at Heworth. This is a major infrastructure headache for all of us and a terrible blow as Nexus tries to roll out its new trains- will they all be stuck North of Tyne? I suspect Nexus bosses will nit be getting a Christmas break. 2/3
