I have found that early semester icebreaker activities that are well received in one class won’t land in another. Like baking, knowing the ingredients and continued practice can lead to more consistent results!

I got a cajon for Christmas. While I’ve enjoyed listening to music all my life, right now I am a total drumming newbie. Everyone started at the beginning, brave new teachers and students! Drum away.

I saw some new years’ advice to focus on tidying only one room at a time to keep the work manageable and not overwhelming. The same may be true for teaching practice: for changes you’d like to make, set intentions to focus on one key aspect at a time!

I just offered this to myself and maybe you need it too: I need to remember how far I’ve come and put the next foot in front of the other. It’s all figureoutable, just keeping going. Even if it feels like backwards it has learning so it’s forward
