1. The Iranian diaspora has long focused its advocacy on the possibility that Iran might make a sudden turn towards democracy. This was advocacy inherently focused on bringing about a best-case scenario. But what if a worst-case scenario is now materialising in Iran?

Not really sure why many of those dreaming of a democratic future for Iran can’t agree on the fact that the foundations of a democracy are built upon differing views and opinions?

The thing is Nazanin jan — we are all on the same side. Some people’s mission is to humanize Iranians, others to highlight atrocities. Neither is wrong, both necessary. So why are we all arguing — the ultimate goal has always been supporting the Iranian people in being heard.
