My thesis work from the Aoto Lab reveals profound sex differences in how acute stress is encoded at synapses, circuitry, and anxiety-like behavior. These findings contribute to our understanding of sex-dependent adaptations that may shape stress-related psychiatric disease risk.

My thesis work from Aoto Lab is out! Here, we show that acute stress causes sex-specific adaptations to ventral subiculum synapses and behaviors. Critically, these sex-specific changes were driven by distinct signaling pathways. nature.com/articles/s4146…
