Today we from @LukeFinlandInt made a first visit to Finland's first Forest Gene Conservation Unit, the Scots pine FIN00001 at the Patasalo island near Savonlinna, to prepare for sampling for the #FORGENIUS project next summer. The perfect day for 10 km cross-country skiing.

The 5th & 6th classes of the Savonlinna Heikinpohja primary school visited today the @LukeFinlandInt Punkaharju research park in the frame of the FORGENIUS project T7.3 to learn about genetic diversity of forest trees. The children also planted some trees. Photos Eero Kovanen
