You may compose the most wonderful music or write the most captivating drama but if the song never fades to silence and if the story bears no conclusion, even a masterpiece will wither into tedium. Dying then, is the arc of life. While living forever is the arc of death.

Sometimes I think that if life were a VR game, We'd appreciate things more. We'd be struck by the detail and the expansiveness. We'd pause. We'd explore. We'd be more present. Yet strangely, we yawn at reality; satisfied with the small routine circuits of our lives.
