It’s National #CleanAirDay today and these students from Castle Mead Academy in #Leicester are doing the school run by boat! That’s certainly one way to cut down on air pollution! Find out more about pollution-free travel in Leicester and Leicestershire at choosehowyoumove.co.uk
Marc had a great day supporting Rushey Mead Primary School with their #CleanAirDay2025 events yesterday! Well done to all of the children who took part 🫒🌻🍄
Our new Education Officer, Vicky, had a great day supporting Bridge Junior School, Leicester school to plant daffodil bulbs around their school grounds as part of #WorldMentalHealthDay. Hopefully in Spring they will bring lots of colour and smiles to everyone!
We had a great time supporting Earthwatch staff with their #TinyForest Discovery Days. Pupils from Montrose School, EyresMonsellPrimary, St Joseph’s Leicester and North Mead measured the trees to see how much carbon they store, spotted any wildlife living there and planted daffodils
The Eco-Schools England #CutYourCarbon event runs throughout November. Encourage young people to complete as many of the six carbon-cutting challenges as they can and you can be entered into a prize draw to win an incredible mural for your school. eco-schools.org.uk/cut-your-carbo…
We celebrated the #GrowYourOwnGrub winners this morning at Stokes Wood Primary. Well done on their amazing menu, mealbarrow & report. We led a KS2 assembly with a fun food quiz and awards, followed by some fruit tree planting with the gardening group and The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) volunteers.
Our first Eco Roadshow hosted at @sirjonathannorth went well on Weds with Hazel Community Primary School Mayflower Primary, Whitehall, Linden and St John the Baptist Primary schools taking part in workshops run by Walk Wheel Cycle Trust , Kids Against Plastic and our Education Officer, Vicky. Amazing work!
Our second Eco Roadshow yesterday was another success, with Knighton Mead Primary Academy , UplandsInfantSchool and Highfields Primary taking part in workshops with Twycross Zoo , Leicester Libraries and Community Centres and Millgate School who also kindly hosted and supported the day.
