Start-of-Dec-2022 updates of reservoirs-plus-snow storage estimates in Sierra and Upper Colorado, available at cnap.ucsd.edu/storage_in_sie… . Not much snow in Sierra yet. Tahoe sums to barely above rim storage while Yuba is near norm. UCRB playing catchup. NIDIS Drought.gov CW3E Scripps

Took advantage of gap in storm arrivals to update reservoirs-plus-snow diagrams thru this morning, at cnap.ucsd.edu/storage_in_sie… A lot of snow water up there (e.g., attached figs)...Lets hope that it comes off & into rezvrs in an orderly manner, later. CW3E Scripps @DroughtGov

Accomplished a long-time goal of visiting Calaveras Big Trees State Park in the snow. Didn't realize I would also get to observe some post-fire ecohydrology.

I have a new paper out with Adrian Harpold and Naomi Tague showing some of the complex relationships between rainfall, snowpack, groundwater, and summer streamflows: dx.doi.org/10.1002/hyp.15…
