My paper w David Simon on the safety net for job losers is forthcoming Journal of Public Economics! Results can be summed up in a few figures & access is free for 50 days👇 32% of lost earnings replaced by public benefits (mostly UI) & this reduces poverty by 18pp, but regressive at bottom
