Whenever you become anxious or stressed, outer purpose has taken over, and you lost sight of your inner purpose. You have forgotten that your state of consciousness is primary, all else secondary.

If you resist what happens, you are at the mercy of what happens, and the world will determine your happiness and unhappiness.

The past has no power to stop you from being present now. Only your grievance about the past can do that. And what is a grievance? The baggage of old thought and emotion.

To be aware of little, quiet things you need to be quiet inside. A high degree of alertness is required. Be still. Look. Listen. Be present.

Negativity is not intelligent. It is always of the ego.

On a deeper level you are already complete, and when you realize that, there is a playful, joyous energy behind what you do.

Acceptance means: For now, this is what this situation, this moment, requires me to do, and so I do it willingly.

You don't need to own anything to feel abundant, although if you feel abundant consistently things will almost certainly come to you. Abundance comes only to those who already have it. It sounds almost unfair, but of course it isn't. It is a universal law.

Nature can bring you to stillness. That is its gift to you.

When you fully accept that you don't know, you give up struggling to find answers with the limited thinking mind, and that is when a greater intelligence can operate through you.

Make it your practice to withdraw attention from past and future whenever they are not needed. Step out of the time dimension as much as possible in everyday life.

The ego doesn't know that the source of all energy is within you, so it seeks it outside.

When you become aware of silence, immediately there is that state of inner still alertness. You are present. You have stepped out of thousands of years of collective human conditioning.

Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.

When you look at a tree and perceive its stillness, you become still yourself. You connect with it at a very deep level.

Life isn't as serious as my mind makes it out to be.

I have learned to offer no resistance to what is; I have learned to allow the present moment to be and to accept the impermanent nature of all things and conditions. Thus have I found peace.

Nonreaction to the ego in others is one of the most effective ways not only of going beyond ego in yourself but also of dissolving the collective human ego.

Don’t seek happiness. If you seek it, you won’t find it, because seeking is the antithesis of happiness. Happiness is ever elusive, but freedom from unhappiness is attainable now, by facing what is rather than making up stories about it.

People with heavy pain-bodies usually have a better chance to awaken spiritually than those with a relatively light one.
