It's the era of the Early Childhood Educator!

Thank you Karina Gould for being a champion for Early Learning and Child Care!! The ECDA welcomes Jenna Sudds to the role and looks forward to the continued ripples we will make together as we support ECEs and families!

Just announced: We’re making further investments in Prince Edward Island’s child care system. We’re helping the province create more than 300 spaces in their Early Years Centres and increase wages for early childhood educators in those centres. More here: tinyurl.com/3wks264v

These investments will also support early childhood educators who are at the heart of our system: ✔️over 300 new licensed spaces ✔️wage increases for early childhood educators ✔️a defined pension plan for employees at Early Year Centres

We had a wonderful round table meeting with Minister Jenna Sudds and Natalie Jameson yesterday! ECEs from across the Island met to discuss a wide range of topics, including: what ECE’s and centres are in need of, the new wage increase, and of course the new pension plan!

Child care is personal to me. Like many working parents, early childhood educators gave me the flexibility to balance a family and work. Now, it’s our turn to support them—with higher wages, better working conditions, and financial security.
