It’s not just the blue wall of the Conservatives in the south we will be taking down, we have our grappling hooks in the acid yellow wall of the SNP. Only the Liberal Democrats can beat the nationalists in huge swathes of Scotland.

This weekend I get to do the most joyful and important thing I do: being a Dad. Together, Emily and I care for our wonderful son John, who has severe physical and learning disabilities.

This week is Carers Week & the motto is ‘putting carers on the map’. Carers do vital work but are often left to juggle caring responsibilities with work. The Carers Leave Act entitles carers to leave, helping manage their time. If re-elected I will continue to campaign for carers

The Lib Dems want to change the fact that the UK has one of the lowest maternity and paternity pays. Families need to have options when welcoming a child which is why we'd increase both, as well as introducing a 'Dad Month'. All of our proposals are fully costed in our manifesto.

All across our great country, people are working hard, caring for loved ones, playing by the rules. But all too often they have been let down and taken for granted. It's time for change. It's time for a fair deal.
