The first week of Molecules to Cells workshop was all about molecular techniques! In just a few days the scholars amplified genes important to cellular senescence with PCR and cloned their products into E.coli. They also worked as a team to plan out experiments.

The EAGR scholars learned what aging looks like in many model organisms from UConn researchers. They visited the Rogina Lab (fruit flies), Lee Lab (nematodes), and Al-Naggar Lab (mammals).
