@e17leaseholders

First time buyers using a shared ownership scheme through @PeabodyLDN. Need a solution to #EWS1, which has turned our home (under 18m) into a prison.

THREAD "Until Gov ensure we are protected from all costs to make buildings as safe as they should have been constructed, we will remain financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally trapped". - EOCS The Government must stop playing games…

Just seen the latest EWS announcement. For the last 2 years official gov guidance (off the back of expert advice) has said all buildings should be checked regardless of height. Does this mean all of a sudden those buildings aren't dangerous? insidehousing.co.uk/news/lenders-s…

Another shocking advert from MHCLG Shared ownership, own between 10 & 75% of the property but be responsible for 100% of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis defects! So many people bought into this & are now trapped waiting for Robert Jenrick to #EndOurCladdingScandal Manchester Cladiators

Now Govt “experts” have publicly declared buildings <18m unlikely to be a risk, where does this leave assessors who’ve rated buildings B2? Are they now sitting ducks for litigation? Hackitt et al call for higher standards & ‘chronic unease’ then throw everybody under the bus.

Look back at one of the earlier EWS announcement and you’ll see the lenders put out a statement to say they didn’t agree with what the Department said they agreed - they did it on a Saturday This could be the third time this has happened

I want to say it’s shocking that the govt didn’t learn from the last EWS1 announcement that they claimed would free us all, but it’s not. It’s just yet more evidence of their incompetence, a perpetual culture of dishonesty and a complete disregard of our feelings.

'Unless the valuer/surveyor is aware there may be an issue'. Govt passes buck lenders. Lenders to valuers. Valuer opts for low risk approach to cover their back. Cycle continues.

Despite the disrespectful and contemptuous way the Sec of State updated UK Parliament in relation to buildings below 18 m not requiring #EWS1 forms it would have been welcome. It now seems that yet again that the substance overrides the spin.

Robert Jenrick⁩ it looks like you didn’t speak to the banks about the change in buildings under 18 meters not needing EWS1 before making your statement last week. Please can you update them, better still bring some legislation in.

EWS1 crisis continues, despite Jenrick's efforts. Jack Simpson 💚 reports this morning: 🏬 Eight of the largest banks will not stop requesting forms at least until govt guidance officially changes 🏬 RICS indicate remediation WILL still be required where surveys have been done

Great to my stories getting a mention on BBC Newsnight yday. The EWS announcement from Jenrick was the government trying to put the genie back in the bottle. On the ground its impact will be limited. You can't wish away fire safety problems.

Sometimes when I'm speaking to people about the cladding crisis, it is hard to underline just how widespread it is and how many people's lives it is impacting. I think the fact that this story👇was the BBC's most read y'day, is a pretty good marker

MPs earning £81,982 per year, can claim £5,453 per year per child. A working class person earning £20,000 per year is expected to feed their own child . Why can’t MPs feed their own children just like the rest do. This is a national scandal.

"What might have made for a good press release has in reality left the situation unchanged for most people and blocks." Labour has slammed the Government's landmark cladding announcement, in a letter seen exclusively by The Telegraph telegraph.co.uk/property/uk/go… #EndOurCladdingScandal

Honestly, how bad does #EndOurCladdingScandal have to get? Innocent leaseholders facing soaring insurance; unsaleable flats; waking watch; being mugged for VAT by virtually everyone in the entire country it seems; and now, if you please, individuals facing bills of £200,000+.

In July this year, at the age of 65, I was so pleased to finally own my modest home, after 47 years of mortgage payments. In August this year, I am taking advice on 40% equity release in my home to help my child pay for building defects on a building they don’t own. 1/6
