Public service announcement and Reminder to #oat growers. If your grain contract and market is for No Desiccant Applied (NDA) oats that likely means you can’t spray any crop protection product or other chemicals on your crop as a harvest aid. Read and follow labels.

The early 1130 starts were so nice. Back to the regularly scheduled programming.

I knew I forgot something I had to do pre harvest on the combine. Of course it chooses a holiday to remind me. Spacer out and rethreaded ready for fresh bolts in the morning. Much less machining on this side than the last 2 years ago.

430 and already ice on the header. Looks like I’ll get to sleep a couple hours before getting in the combine after all. Weather stations saying just below -1. Surprised it took this long the way the summer was.

Oats, wheat, peas done. Now to focus on finishing swathing this canola. Looking forward to not pulling triple duty and getting a couple more hours of sleep.

I don’t usually vent on here about politics however when AAFC is constantly being shorted on funds and in turn all producers feel the effects this seems extremely unnecessary. Dollars that could have been spent on improved rail capacity and small crop breeding at home now gone.

Like factory. Plasma torches never cease to amaze me how easy they make cleanup vs a oxy/acet torch. Should cut a couple hours off bin yard cleanup without losing the angle for the yard.
