If you claim to 'love' animals, but you eat animal products, you need to think critically about how you understand love. Going vegan easily aligns this moral inconsistency.

The fact that the violence of animal exploitation is not commonly accepted as immoral does not mean we should not be clear in rejecting it. So promoting “humane” exploitation as a good or “compassionate” interim step is not only illogical, it’s simply wrong. Condemn all violence.

If you could live a healthy life without killing sentient beings who value their lives as much as you do yours, why wouldn't you do that? Please consider not eating (or wearing or otherwise using) animals, Please consider going vegan. It's the right thing to do.

This sounds like a decent definition of veganism from The Vegan Society - so long as it’s made clear that humans are animals. At present they are listed as if separate categories.
