It’s over 34 years since the first cause of mitochondrial myopathy was identified London Mitochondrial Centre by Holt, Morgan-Hughes, and the late Prof Anita Harding. Since then 100s of causes have been identified but we still lack a cure. #mitoawarenessweek #WMDW The Lily Foundation WMDW

@Michael_Duchen’s lab, with Robert Pitceathly (UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology) and Claudio Raimondi (William Harvey Research Institute), has a grant from The British Heart Foundation focused on inter-relations between atypical #strokes, #mitochondrial #DNA mutations & vascular endothelial function. Today marked my last day at Duchen Lab and UCL Biosciences UCL. Over the past 4 years, I've had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic individuals and gaining valuable knowledge. Grateful for the experiences that have molded me as a scientist. Eager for what the future holds!
