In the recent episode, I asked David Jayatillake what advice he could give to data team managers and he answered it perfectly. Indeed, hiring is paramount. Get it right, and everything else becomes easier; get it wrong, and problems quickly multiply.

And I agree with David Jayatillake here. Technical skills can be learned, but a positive attitude and cultural fit are essential and much harder to instill. Prioritizing these qualities in hiring sets the stage for a thriving team.
