I will be presenting at TextXD on Dec. 6! Talking about my new work with Laszlo BarabasiLab Albert-László Barabási on "Hidden Citations" (case in point—when you use GR without citing Einstein:) What are their good/bad effects on science? See for details: textxd.org/speaker/meng/

Happy to see many onsite participants (120+) NetSci-X 2023 in Buenos Aires. NetsciX events are meant to promote network science in, and visibility of, the local community where the event is held. Network Science Society

Now Rodrigo Dorantes Gilardi shows how to measure the impact of biobank data on health knowledge, by using bibliographic data and co-citation networks #NetSciX2023

Many thanks to my incredible collaborators Bin Zhou, Petter Holme, xin lu, and the editorial team at Nature Communications, along with the discerning referees Jan Nagler and Nicolò Pagan. Your exceptional contributions and generous praise mean everything. I am so flattered!

I'm hiring (several) postdocs Knowledge Lab this year and over the next 5 years at the University of Chicago in AI, Data and Computer Science, Computational Social Science, Tech Policy, Science of Science and Innovation, and more! Check out ads (and please forward to your favorite

Finally! It's been a long journey with Onur Varol and Albert-László Barabási. I'd like to note that Hidden Citations are not bad for authors. A paper with more hidden citations actually makes it more impactful — it's hidden from citation-counting tools, not the community.

Thrilled to annouce that I am joining the Physics Program Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute RPI Science TODAYYY as a tenure-track assistant professor. It is official now! And huge thanks to my advisors, Albert-László Barabási and Istvan Kovacs :)

First-ever group meeting with the most talented Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students. Just to clarify—I bought bubble tea for everyone (not just me)

Two papers accepted by Physical Review Letters and Science Advances so far this year! doi.org/10.1126/sciadv… doi.org/10.1103/PhysRe… With the same theme: *paths* (not links) play a very different and important role in quantum networks. RPI Science news: physics.rpi.edu/announcements/…
