A World Bank team visited the 🇧🇩embassy to discuss key risks and sources of resilience in Myanmar’s current context. The Bank is preparing a risk assessment and resilience study on 🇲🇲. The delegation included officials from Washington, D.C., & staff from the WB’s country office.

Attended an event celebrating #IWD2025, org. by Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs N/W & the Business & Professional Women. Presented souvenirs to distinguished 👩& professionals in 🇲🇲. H/lighted the importance of encouraging👩‍🔬in STEM 📚to close the gender gap in scientific research 🌍.

Met with doctors from the Myanmar GI & Liver Foundation to discuss shared liver health challenges in 🇧🇩 and 🇲🇲. We explored collaboration b/w counterpart org. on research, training, and public health initiatives to benefit both nations. #HealthDiplomacy #MedicalCollaboration

Bangladesh handed over 1st consignment of relief material to the earthquake affected communities of 🇲🇲 on 30 March. These included tents, food packets, medicines, & essential items. More to follow. 🇧🇩 stands ready to deploy 50 member SAR team. #EarthquakeRelief #Solidarity

Bangladesh’s 55-member rescue & medical team arrived in NayPyiTaw on 1 April with 15 metric tons of relief for the earthquake stricken people of 🇲🇲. The team is deployed in NayPyiTaw. A 16.5-ton consignment was sent earlier on March 30. #HumanitarianSupport #MyanmarEarthquake

Following 🇲🇲 quake,🇧🇩’s 55-member #SAR team earned deep gratitude frm the people of 🇲🇲. Coord. by @afdgovbd & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it worked tirelessly in recovery ops, I/S assmt. & critical care in Naypyitaw. A farewell ceremony was held on 4 Apr to honour their contributions. Thx, Team 🇧🇩.

Today, we handed over 3rd consgt of humanitarian relief from 🇧🇩 to support #earthquake victims of 🇲🇲. The 120 MT supplies included tents, food packets, dry rations, water, blankets, clothing, hygiene products, & other essentials & were transported to Yangon by BNS #SomudraAvijan.

20 trafficked 🇧🇩 youths & a 55-member SAR team depart Yangon aboard BNS Somudra Avijan. The Embassy arranged repatriation after verification. The ship also delivered 120 MT of aid, 3rd consignment of total 151 MT relief. Reaching Chattogram on 15 April. #Solidarity #Earthquake

Late Post: Met with UN Sp Env for 🇲🇲, Ms. Julie Bishop, on 11 April during her visit to Yangon. A few ambassadors were also present. Earlier, she briefed all ambassadors/HOMs based in Yangon. We had a good discussion on current situation in Myanmar, including Rohingya issue.
