The amazing Shannon Murray, Lisa Dickson & ⁦Dr. Jessica Riddell⁩ presenting on “Shakespeare's Guide to Hope, Life, and Learning”, in which they promote the concepts of critical love, critical empathy, and critical hope. “Hope & empathy that is clear eyed & requires hard work”.

We gathered 38 wyrdos, age 18-80, from 6 universities in fields of business, neuroscience, computer sci, law, literature, drama, medicine + educators to attend Shakesperience 2023 Stratford Festival. 5 plays, 3 workshops, 3 tours, 3 post show chats, 8 special guests: what did we learn 🧵

We also learned that re-imagining authority & expertise with renewed appreciation of diverse lived experiences makes us all better situated to build just& equitable worlds on a foundation of critical love. Shakesperience relies on 3 Wyrd sisters working on university margins 4/5

Finally, we learned that together we can break open into new ways of knowing& being in the world together. Shakespeare gives us characters who build or break worlds and then asks us which role do we want to play? Shakesperience is a world-building act that starts from love. 5/5
