Submission to the Australian Law Reform Commission Inquiry into Surrogacy done! The issues paper described a "shortage of surrogates" much as in 1950s-80s there was a "shortage of adoptable babies." Human rights are not upheld if those who want a baby are centred over children.

Direct breastfeeding offers the most comprehensive support for early childhood development. It uniquely combines nutrition with emotional bonding, physiological regulation, and sensory stimulation—critical foundations for lifelong health and development.

This experience is a good illustration of why "sex assigned at birth" is so offensive. Sexism remains life-threatening in many parts of the world. This reality makes using terminology saying that it is a choice to make a baby female is just appalling!

Psychologists have posited hundreds of cognitive biases over the years. A fascinating paper argues that they all boil down to one of a handful of fundamental beliefs coupled with confirmation bias. [Link below.]

New experience today, being accused of lying by a journalist in New York Magazine. It seems the journalist did not check my reference list and so got things totally wrong. I'm in good company with Richard Dawkins though. I have requested a correction and apology.
