3 black women, 1 dream. So blessed to have crossed the finish line with these brilliant, beautiful new doctors who I have the privilege of calling my dearest friends. Rosyli Reveron-Thornton MS Sandrene Cassells, MD MSEd

western cultures believe we must be alive for a purpose. to work, to make money. some indigenous cultures believe we're alive just as nature is alive: to be here, to be beautiful & strange. we don't need to achieve anything to be valid in our humanness.

Young Black kids learn to shrink, suppress, and hide themselves in school. We learn that we don’t get to make mistakes, be rowdy, or even defend ourselves. We are a threat before we hit puberty. So when I say: white women tears are a weapon of mass destruction /14

It's six AM. I'm still in bed and my eyes are barely open. I reach for my phone. I check my email. Last night's sign out just arrived. I scan last the names I don't recognize, looking for one in particular... 🧵

The limit of 4 tests/household disproportionately affects people who share living costs/have roomates, and multi-generation households. The address requirement also leaves unhoused people without testing. There should be no limit, and more methods to access free tests.

Don’t get me wrong- the nomination of Judge KBJ is a historic moment. But why are we normalizing a Black woman being verbally & emotionally abused by a committee for the public to see? Why are we applauding composure during abuse? Why must Black women suffer to make history?

White people often show outrage when Black ppl do “bad things.” But they are often silent when white ppl and the systems they’ve built, which are steeped in white supremacy, do bad things *to* Black ppl. This is a thread about how the Will and Chris incident became about race. 🧵

Do people realize Robb Elementary doubled its spend on school security since 2017? They had a fence. They had surveillance. They had officers on duty. They had shooter drill trainings. ALL OF IT FAILED. The problem is easy access to guns. It's always been guns. ADDRESS THE GUNS
