✌️OUT NOW✌️my new book w/ South African Modernism 1880-2020 Routledge Literature explores how literature contextualises the climate crisis within a history of capitalist-imperialism & helps us imagine a habitable and just world for all forms of life 🧵1/7

I’m very grateful to Bodleian Libraries for a visiting fellowship in women’s history (!) over 24-25. I’ve spent the past month in their rich #antiapartheid archives, developing a new project on SA writers in Britain. Feeling relieved to have the time, space & encouragement to write.

So very sad to hear this news. I had the huge pleasure of meeting Fleur in Oxford in late June at a wonderful symposium on Janet Frame organised by Emma Parker #nzlit

What a delight to be back on #InOurTime. Hear lurker discussing Louisa May Alcott’s Transcendentalist childhood, me on her Gothic writing, and the inimitable Bridget Bennett asking Melvyn Bragg which of the Little women he is? bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…

Another reminder that if you’re buying books online, for Xmas or otherwise, you should do so through Drop City Books, an inspirational new space in Stoke currently closed due to a flood damage caused by a negligent landlord. They’re amazing, honestly uk.bookshop.org/shop/dropcityb…
