Lots of comments on the Idris Elba #DontStopYourFuture anti knife crime campaign. Some welcome the voice of a celebrity speaking into a cause that most people choose to ignore, others believe it’s performative hype. For me I welcome anything that brings awareness to this issue.

The public don’t understand sector terms like VAWG, Public Health Approach, Cultural sensitivity, ACES and more. The general public understand narrative and storytelling. There is place for both symbolism and substance when engaging with violence affecting young people.
