As a practice, we are working on how to immunise our patients & deciding if we can build extra capacity. We will need to work longer to do this without neglecting our usual care. My elderly patients are wanting reassurance that I will personally immunise them. Yes is my answer.

NEWโ€”A single dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca #COVID19 vaccine provided strong protection in trials after the first 22 days: 76% efficacy (days 22-90). Also, when 2nd shot were delayed by >3 months: ~82% efficacy for symptomatic disease. But poor efficacy for asymptomatic disease. ๐Ÿงต

I did a straw poll in an Aged Care Dr forum on who has received or booked in for their 1a vaccinations. Turns not that many (41/149 or 27.5% of respondents). Of the 131 GPs only 20.6% were vaccinated or booked in. We have a LONG way to go. @GregHuntMP RACGP Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP) President

Say I have equity & shares in a govt funded ($30M) project to transform the #mentalhealth system through innovative tech; I should advocate for the reduction of subsidised MH consults under Medicare's Better Access, & comment on GP billing practices, right?! Asking for a nation.

I don't get it. Policy decisions around Medicare reform seem to go like this. 1.Govt effectively reduces the Medicare rebate over decades, assuming that GPs are too compassionate to charge patients who can't pay. Most GPs pay the gap between the cost & rebate themselves
