Appeal for help: anyone know about myopia control lenses? Been recommended them for daughter and - ever the scientist - I've been digging into the research. Found a couple of reviews implying it's effective but fairly small sample sizes. Anyone know more?

In a tutorial today I asked students to think how they’d model what would happen if a water company dumped a load of pollution into Derwent reservoir. Obvs highly unlikely example* but great to see them thinking how to apply maths to real world. * Actually very likely indeed

Ppl on both sides saying you’ll never understand someone’s vote when you start from completely different worldview which I get, but hasn’t it always been like that? Weren’t we always in bubbles of community and work? So why does it seem so much worse rn? Just that we see it more?
