First time out collecting data for my new Bush Heritage job and I was lucky enough to see some great #birds. I think I am going to like my new field sites a lot. #WildOz

Great day yesterday launching my Plains-wanderer conservation booklet that summaries findings from my PhD with TrustforNature 🏞️🦎🐢 North Central CMA 🌳🐠🐦. Getting my research directly into the hands of farmers and land managers who can make positive onground impact! More copies available

Devastated. This was a native grassland (federally listed) in North Vic, home to threatened species, a few weeks ago but now a cultivated paddock. It was reported at time of spraying but no action DEECA Victoria Campaspe Shire . Death of our unique grasslands by a thousand cuts...

NEW PAPER ALERT. Final paper to come from my PhD. We look at how switching from status-quo livestock grazing to other disturbance types influences habitat for grassland birds. John Morgan. doi.org/10.1111/aec.13…

We've committed to protect 30% of Australia's land by 2030. Here's how we could actually do it theconversation.com/weve-committed… via The Conversation - Australia + New Zealand

If Govt is serious about halting extinctions then developments on Ramsar listed wetlands can't go ahead. The Toondah Harbour application is on Tanya Plibersek desk waiting for a decision. We need decisions that protect Nature, incl. endangered species like Eastern curlews.

Our community group has watched multiple EPBC-listed native grasslands go under the plough in recent years with no permits or prosecutions. The absence of enforcement is a clear example of the EPBC Act failing. Time for an overhaul Tanya Plibersek . acf.org.au/how-environmen…
