Grateful to represent Somalia at the One Health Cross-Border Coordination Workshop, 22-23 October, in Addis Ababa. Great discussions on strengthening cross border collaboration between Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia to tackle zoonotic diseases and shared health threats. Together.

Recognizing the interconnections of Human,Animal and Environmental Health are crucial in ensuring resilient livestock systems. The three domains cannot be addressed in isolation.#OneHealth#ZoNoHchallenge

Alhamdulillah! Excited to be part of the Wellcome-funded AeDST-HORN project! We’re developing mathematical models to forecast dengue and chikungunya patterns in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia, powering online decision tools for risk-based surveillance and control.

Our study marks the first molecular identification of Ehrlichia minasensis in camels, goats, sheep, and cattle from Somalia, and the first detection of E. ruminantium in Somali cattle. These findings call for urgent tick control and surveillance efforts. #Tick_borne_disease
